Let’s dive into the detailed review.

Display:

Display

This is an IPS FHD(1920 x 1080), 24-inch LED monitor. Its typical static contrast ratio is 1300:1, and 80M:1 ratio for dynamic contrast. Its regular brightness comes at 250 cd/m². As an 8-bit color-supported display, the display can produce 16.7 million colors. This is a great aspect of this monitor. Which is quite impressive at its price point. The refresh rate is 100Hz and the response time is only 1 ms which is remarkable as a cheap gaming monitor. Another significant role ViewSonic has played by making this an AMD freesync monitor. This technology’s key job is to synchronize the framerate with the monitor’s refresh rate precisely. Along with that, Flicker Free Technology is also present in it. As a result, we attain stutter-free and tearing-free output while playing games. Which takes the joy of playing the game one step further.

Color accuracy is a significant part of any monitor. Incorrect output of color can spoil the attraction of any viewer. So this ViewSonic gaming monitor assures 72% NTSC and 104% sRGB. Usually, we can see such color gamut in monitors of this price. There is also the benefit of Anti-Glare and Hard Coating (3H) to keep the display surface free from light reflection. The Blue Light Filter is also provided to protect the eyes from excessive blue light damage.

Body Architecture:

Body Architecture

Pretty solid built-quality we can see of this monitor. We can receive a gaming vibe from the design framework. The design is charismatic, modern, and made to be eye-catching for gamers.

As a plus, we can avail 02 typical built-in speakers. The quality of which will be similar to running day-to-day work. But not ideal for gaming.

The physical controls are located on the bottom right side which are quite clickable and responsive. Every function of on screen can be easily customized with buttons. But the sad thing is that the joystick buttons are not used. Joystick controllers are preferred by many and modern also.

100 x 100 mm VESA mounting compatibility is available for wall mount. Thumbs up for this. However, along with the sweetness, the bitter taste has to be digested because it does not have any swivel, rotation, or height adjustment feature. We get only a -5º/20º tilt option in forward/backward only. But the monitor is quite lightweight. Net weight 3.5 kg, Net Without Stand 3.2 kg, Gross weight 4.9 kg.

Ports and Connector Options:

Ports and Connector Options

We are getting the basic ports on this ViewSonic Omni monitor. Those are:

  • 1x DisplayPort.
  • 1x HDMI 1.4.
  • 1x 3.5mm Audio Out.
  • 3-pin power-in socket (IEC C14 / CEE22).
  • Kensington Lock Slot.

The usual ports are available here but there is a negative point which we will talk about in the drawbacks section.

Drawbacks:

Drawbacks
  • The lack of HDMI 2.0 is the negative part here. As a gaming-focused monitor, it has a good number of features attached which are commendable. However, the use of HDMI 1.4 in this ViewSonic gaming monitor is not preferable at all. We know how HDMI 2.0 is more upgraded than HDMI 1.4 and how much positive effect it has on gaming. How nice it would be if there was HDMI 2.0.
  • It’s a low-budget monitor so we may face ghosting in it. Due to this gaming feels blurry and laggy sometimes. Which decreases the gaming experience a lot. But it’s a very common thing in a cheap gaming monitor.

Final Thoughts:

Final Thoughts of ViewSonic gaming monitor review

We get quite a few good segment monitors from ViewSonic. And it is a very well-known brand in the monitor market. Regarding price-to-performance, the Omni VX2416 has a few drawbacks. We often notice these types of deficiencies in low-cost monitors. It is not recommendable for pro-level and high-end gaming. But to develop a gaming setup on a limited budget, this ViewSonic gaming monitor is probably a great budget-friendly option.
